But manufacturer Mattel has come out with a so-called Honor Barbie in the chancellor’s likeness, which was presented at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. “You can argue about politics, but the fact that we have a female chancellor in Germany is surely something special in the eyes of other countries,” a company spokesman said. The last woman to be have a Barbie doll made in her own likeness was US talkshow host Oprah Winfrey. Barbie, who is five years younger than the German chancellor, has had 108 careers spanning 50 years, ranging from flight attendant to, now, the political leader of Europe’s largest economy. source dw world
